If the entry slip is too tight or lose for your neck, the collar can be slightly adjusted with a gentle squeeze of both ends to close or open it more, making it easier for your neck to slip through.

Warming up the collar by placing it in a ziplock bag and submerging the bag in water that has been heated up softens the metal and makes it more malleable for adjusting - do this slowly and carefully to avoid damaging the item.
